LPOL was founded in 2009 by former Central Saint Martins graduates Katy and John Maskell Bell with a unique design ethos: traditional saddlery through a minimalist lens, designed and handmade in London.
‘As designers, we’re concerned with three things; fabric, form and function – with the sole aim to combine them effortlessly, sustainably and desirably in the best traditions and progression of our craft.’
Complementing their eye for timeless design and low-impact manufacturing, the duo pioneered a zero-waste method in their East London workshop – ensuring every off cut or scrap piece of leather and fabric is retained to produce new season prototypes, concept pieces, small goods and one-off gifts. Even the ribbons of skived leather are displayed and used to tag products in their London flagship store.
