WASHI PAPER MAKING WORKSHOP AT STORE STORE
Join papermaker Mandy Brannan for a traditional Japanese Washi Paper Making Workshop at STORE Store. Learn how to prepare fibres from the inner bark of the Paper Mulberry tree to form paper, before experimenting with pigmentation and decorative techniques to produce both plain and decorative sheets.
Mandy Brannan is a London based papermaker who has studied both Japanese and Western styles of hand papermaking. Mandy has taken influences from both traditions to develop her own personal style that involves experimenting with different papermaking fibres, plant-based and recycled materials, and pigmentation methods.
The workshop is open to a maximum of 10 participants (age 16+) on a first come, first served basis. Attendance at the workshop costs £40 (£30 students) with all proceeds supporting our After School Club for the local state school students.
