TWIIN is the capital’s first ‘LA concept store’, a celebration of the similarities between the fashion tribes of London and Los Angeles: a dynamic new way to twin divergent cities. The womenswear space showcases an eclectic mix of established & emerging fashion labels, as well as beauty, art & lifestyle products coming out of LA’s vibrant cultural scene.
We sat down with Twiin’s retail Director Jarayd to get the lowdown on the store and life at Coal Drops Yard.
What can people expect from your store?
Twiin is a Los Angeles-focused concept store. We stock premium fashion brands, lifestyle items and clean beauty products from LA. We want our customers to experience a condensed, concentrated version of Los Angeles and everything it has to offer.
What can people find at Twiin that they can’t find anywhere else?
So much! We have lots of exclusive brands such as RG Kane and Selkie. Every brand we stock has a unique perspective, whether that’s sustainability, consciousness, clean beauty or being gender fluid.
What inspired you to start the business?
We saw the similarities between London and Los Angeles – the fashion girls in both cities are always looking for what’s cool and what’s new and love to mix this newness with established brands and vintage pieces. It’s that eclectic style that really inspired us to open Twiin. We’re also all about Twiining with community and Coal Drops Yard offers us a unique place to do this with both our neighbours and customers.
Tell us a fun memory you have of Coal Drops Yard.
We try to explore American holidays and traditions in ways unique to us. Last year we held a Thanksgiving event where we threw an amazing brunch at hicce and invited some of our favourite influencers. The event was in collaboration with Boyish Jeans, our sustainable denim brand. After brunch we partnered with the Canal and River Trust and did a litter pick and clean up on the stretch of canal that runs alongside Coal Drops Yard. It was the perfect combination of fashion, community and sustainability.
