London Craft Week celebrates outstanding British and international creativity across the capital. From 30 September – 10 October 2020 the festival brings together over 250 established and emerging makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world.

 

Coal Drops Yard joins London Craft Week for the second time, presenting a programme of exhibitions, installations and experiences celebrating making and materials from the truly traditional to the exuberantly innovative.

 

Whilst you are visiting Coal Drops Yard Make sure you explore some of the other King’s Cross culture highlights, Including ‘My World and Your world’ sculpture by Eva Rothschild, ‘Semaphores’ by Amalia Pica and Pattern Portraits by Lauren Godfrey – an installation of 120 patterned flags over the central yard.

SHOES HAVE NAMES – JO COPE & SHELTER 

An exhibition and retail space highlighting the positive change Shelter has helped make to people’s lives. Shoe designers in the UK and Europe have worked with individuals who faced homelessness to understand their story and their future hopes. The resulting shoes represent the ‘steps forward’ they have taken.

DESIGN, TECHNIQUE & MATERIALITY AT COAL OFFICE

Tom Dixon Studio explores the craftsmanship involved in their collections at their London hub, the Coal Office. Come and discover the brand’s latest launches and early designs. Celebrating 3 decades of Tom’s S Chair, knitwear designer Peju Obasa and leather artisans Bill Amberg Studio upholster the iconic frame in their signature styles.

IKAI ASAI AT FOLK 

 

Ikai Asai presents a ‘table of inspiration’ – a selection of handcrafted pieces created in collaboration with artists, artisans and designers. Ikai means “one” in Punjabi and Asai “wish or desire” in Tamil, highlighting the diversity within India and the beauty of co-creation.

WHAT FOLLOWS BY SIAN EVANS & POND

 

Award-winning jeweller Sian Evans teams up with new brand Pond. The closed loop system the designers use to create their work is presented in an installation and interactive demonstration of work and processes at Kiosk N1C. Learn how they source and use recycled precious materials.
