The public spaces, parks, gardens and Christmas displays remain open for you to enjoy responsibly. We do ask that while enjoying some fresh air or outdoor exercise, you help to keep Coal Drops Yard safe for everyone.

As well as the Botanical Boys’ Terrarium Tree at Coal Drops Yard, you’ll find two more iconic, Traditionally Untraditional Christmas tree installations around Kings Cross.

At Granary Square the Electric Nemeton Tree, designed by local architecture practice Sam Jacobs Studio, takes inspiration from fairy tale forests and the symbolism of the midwinter tree.  The giant, walk-through sculpture is named after ancient Celtic groves called nemetons that were constructed using the natural landscape and used as sacred gathering places – all echoed in the design to create an atmospheric and unmissable festive tree.

Over at Battle Bridge Place, the People’s Tree is a multi-coloured, interactive installation featuring playful dynamic light effects powered by the actions of visitors and passers-by. Stomp your feet or wave your hands near the tree to activate sensors and trigger a bright and brilliant festive light show for the whole family to enjoy!
